Can Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs (CFL) be Used in 3-way Lamps? September 14, 2010

When an individual is accustomed to using standard incandescent light bulbs, he or she does not give a thought to where they may be used. However, while switching from incandescent to compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL) – whether to conserve the environment or your pocketbook – some quetions might arrise.

One is, “Can compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL) be used in a 3-way lamp?” The answer is yes. A standard CFL May be used in a 3-way lamp. However you will only get light in the middle of the three on positions.

There are three-way CFL light bulbs readily available.  There is even one with an LED night light.  How practical!

Three-way CFL bulbs are available in warm white (2700K), through bright white (4100K) to daylight white (5100K).  Choose the color that’s right for you. Then adjust the light level to meet your need.
